I hope the tide that is now turning means that smaller start-ups, such as CharlieDog and Friends, will have an easier time sourcing pattern makers, sewing contractors, and cutters.  We fully expected to pay more for our products once we &quot;reshored&quot;, from China back to America.  But we were unprepared for the lack of customer service, quick turnaround, and poor workmanship we experiences with the few factories we contracted here.  And one is THE SOLE plush toy making factory in America!

It seems to me that if you can&#039;t compete with China on price, you can at least compete on customer service.  That is -- or should be -- the easiest part!

Our solution, eventually, was to &quot;farm out&quot; to individual seamstresses, creating a virtual factory spread out all over New York.  Where there&#039;s a will, there&#039;s a way!
